- Echeveria cultivars
January 22, 2011The genus Echeveria, especially in recent years, there is a lot of hybrids. Some hybrids can perhaps be identified, however, is no exception, the plants tend to have very few characters from different botanical species and it is very difficult to recognize from the genus Echeveria. In determining the hybrids to be examined not only flowers, but also the shape and properties of leaves, which are available all year round, unlike seasonal flowers. The identification is also important to monitor overall plant habit.
Echverie are often crossed with plants from other genera. This creates intergeneric hybrids
Graptopetalum - Graptoveria
Pachyphytum - Pachyveria
Sedum - Sedeveria
Graptoverie cultivars are often confused with echverie and is difficult to distinguish from each other only by vegetative appearance. An important distinguishing feature of the different flowers with free petals, unlike Echeveria associated with petals forming a tube.
Pachyverie from echverií are recognizable chiefly by thicker, sukulentnějších sheet than most Echeveria. Leaves pachyverií more upright than plants of the genus Echveria.
In particular, sedeverií defining feature of protracted weak stalks. With weight hold roses with stems upright and gradually becomes overhanging. Rose sedeverií are usually higher than wide.
For orientation between taxa would like to state here the plants with a brief description and photographs of origin. Disclosure of information about the appearance and origin of the different cultivars, however, is dependent on the plants I have in the collection. In the future I believe will grow not only information, but most cultivars and botanical species of this genus, which I am very happy.
