Echeveria Rodolfo has been described as a new species from Tamaulipas, Mexico. (Mexico, Tamaulipas, Hidalgo village, 42 km west of Santa Engracia, on the border with the municipality of Zaragoza, Nuevo Leon, altitude 1900 m asl, pine and oak forests. October 14, 1998, JG Martínez-Avalos 0819)

Were collected in 1998 in an isolated locality in Hidalgo, near the border state of Nuevo Leon. The incidence is probably limited to this area of ​​northeastern Mexico. Echeveria Rodolfo grows in residential areas between 1800-2000 m. Temperate climate prevails here with average annual temperatures of 16 -18 ° C and prevailing summer rain.

When compared with E. bifida, E. and E. walpoleana strictiflora find that a similar vzhedově taxon. However, differences are the size of rosettes, in the form, size, number and color of violet leaves.
