Sedum rupifragum
November 17, 2009
Looking at the photo I certainly believe that this plant has left this year's exhibition sedum, which we held in our garden, no one in peace. Japanese stonecrop Sedum rupifragum, is often referred to as Sedum hakonense is typical keříčkovitý growth, with vystoupavými stem, which at a height of ten inches polehat begin. Possesses up to 5 cm long, lanceolate, succulent, fresh green leaves with a central longitudinal groove. Flowers are yellow. So could be briefly summarized the distinguishing features of this kind.
Every time I walk out to the garden, I go to places where I
organize your collection of sedum and still did not think I about this kind dálnovýchodního passed unnoticed. Lebeda directly to a wide bowl with sandy soil. Its bright green leaves are removed the next species, whose color is not so bright light. Color sheets Sedum rupifragum could be likened to the color of Sedum elacombinaum, which is typical pea-green colored leaves throughout the growing season.
But unlike the above stonecrop Sedum rupifragum turns their leaves according to the environment in which to grow. In the shade of the color of fresh green leaves in the sun is downloaded to the roses and colors closer to red spotted. And then I got to the growing demands. This Japanese stonecrop is such a universal nature. You can grow in both shade and sun. The shade will have a burly shape, not pulled toward the light, the sun will be compact and probarvenější. It can be fitted into the rock, covering against the excessive moisture in winter, or in a container and hide there for the winter in a protected location, such as the roof or under a covered terrace.
Sedum rupifragum is really wonderful and one of nejúhlednějších mrazuvzdorných succulent species. Neat and fresh growth vzhed throughout the summer, up until the coming autumn. In the first cooling of Indian summer this flower in the garden simply has no competition! At least for me.
