Crassula arborescens grows in South Africa in various conditions and ranks the most represented genus succulent flora of Africa. Together with a Cactacea Aizoaceae Crasulaceae is the third largest genus of succulent plants in the world. Crassulaceae family name and genus Crassula is derived from the Latin word "crassus" meaning fat or fat and usually refers to the fleshy leaves and stems. Arborescens species name is a Latin word for tree.
Crassula arborescens is a very attractive appearance, both natural environments and grown in culture. Unlike most succulents, which are relatively small, is extraordinary Crassula arborescens. It's a plant sukulentního tree growth, easily identifiable šedomodrým their foliage, which contrasts well with other plants. As a solitary plant is very impressive and very easily grows to a height of 3 meters.
The trunk is thick, fleshy, the smooth zelenošedou bark. Were found two more

Flowering occurs in spring and lasts until early summer. Fancy flowers are star-white to pink, the spherical shape slightly over the foliage and the plant is almost entirely covered by them. After pollination, the month of November, mature seeds, which are then distributing the surrounding wind. Crassula arborescens in a natural area not an endangered species, the tree because of its size and the ability to easily reproduce well klíčivými seeds. Plants grow on the sandstone and slate, in the rocky gravel. They often occupy large areas on slopes and hillsides, somewhere on the cliffs, but are found also osluněných valleys.
Crassula arborescens is stálezelný tree with a shallow root system, which completely uses low rainfall. The leaves are slightly erect, thereby minimize the surface exposure of plants to solar radiation and thereby reduced the drying drying. Blue-green color of leaves is actually a waxy layer of dust, which also reflects sunlight and protects the plant during very hot sunny days. Plants growing on the cliffs and slopes easily lost fragments of branches and leaves, which easily take root and thus can develop a separate colony, which is not unusual, so you can see the pitch stands near the parent plant. Use and cultivation: As with some other plants of the Crassulaceae is also used in the treatment of epilepsy, the roots are edible arborescens ssp. Aspects of gardening plants are still very popular.
