Winter is in full swing in many places, snow and bare trees runs through the cold wind. For us Říp is this just the wind in the branches, we only see snow on the distant peaks of the Bohemian Central Highlands. Sukulentíky resting on their wintering grounds and it is no wonder that we all look forward to spring. For us to wait more have passed, we prepared together with Roudnice Club growers of cacti and succulents winter meeting of growers of succulent plants. I admit that I look forward as ever to peacefully reunite with friends and colleagues together to discuss their experiences and achievements of the past season than in winter.
Not only that, I am pleased that my invitation as lecturer accepted Mr Jiri Janda, Jiri and Jan Hadamovský Gratias. This stellar trio will share with you their experience with the cultivation and shaping of succulents, is complemented by lots of beautiful photographs.
By this we invite you to Saturday, 18 February 2012 in a pleasant environment in Libochovice Stables restaurant. Expected beginning of the first lecture is at 10 hours, completion is planned for 15 hour.

The plant is known mainly for us under the name already invalid Talinum sediforme. An inexperienced grower would have this kind of mistake is severoamerikým stonecrop Sedum lanceolatum ssp subalpinum. Plants are you at first glance seem similar, but only until the first buds appear and flowers. Phemeranthus has large white flowers, while P. lanceolatum flowers yellow. Of course, in individual families, to which both belong. Phemeranthus is included in the family Portulaceceae, Sedum comes to the family Crassulaceae.

Senecio scaposu with a small plant that despite his small stature, certainly among other succulents lost. It is due for its succulent not too frequent plstnatému surface, cylindrical elongated leaves. We plant in the collection for several years and during that time were not any significant additions. Rather, it is a slow growing species, which in a small bowl bonsai last for several seasons.

Roses are in adulthood + - 10 cm in diameter. Leaves heavily frosted silvery coating, with purple trim. Plant odnožuje well. Growing in the wider bowl in a protected area. He hates dlouhdobé waterlogging sheets. Cold wintering.

Sukulentního treasury of the world is Mexico, not about to discuss. Apart from cacti, there grow many species of succulents from the family Crassulaceae. In states of Guanajuato and San Luis Potosi is relatively limited occurrence in the collections of rare and prized species Pachyphytum fittkaui. I recently read on the internet that pachyphyta plants, growing mainly in the desert, drought, and require a lot of sun. Whoever posted this description, at least deserved a slap, because gender is Pachyphytum demonstrates that even succulent growing in their natural environment in damp shady places the walls of canyons and river banks.

Still, it looks like Senecio macroglossus succulent ivy, with this plant has nothing in common. Senecio macroglossus Asterace belongs to the family, while ivy, Hedera helix, belongs to the family Araliaceae. Senecio is a large and variable genus, comprising about 1250 species and except Antarctica can be found throughout the world. The name Senecio is derived from the Latin senex derived from an old man with white hair that resembles a white fuzz on the seeds mature. The generic name means macroglossus large tongue (macro = large, Glossa = language) and refers to the large, glossy leaves trojcípým. The succulent leaves are characteristic for the species and the plant is unmistakeable.

Small, fast-growing cultivar with rosettes + - 9 cm. Plant in a very short period of time begins to create rich new offshoot of the shaft. It creates such rich clusters, reaching an average of nearly half a meter. Spiky green leaves significant gain in cold weather yellowish tint.

E. agavoides 'Prolifera' x E. cuspidata 'Parrasensis'
The cultivar was distributed in 1970 ISI 645
Each rosette diameter reached about 30 cm. Leaves in shades of burgundy sun gaining color. Slow growing cultivar, almost neodnožující.

hybrid between Echveria agavoide with x Echeveria elegans
Plant nebla distributed under kultivarovým no assigned name, carries the name of its growers. It is a relatively good growing hybrid, forming at the age of rich clusters of densely crowded rosettes. The plant is not vynímečná its appearance. Not suitable for growing all-day sun sunburn.
